Personal Training That Fits Around You
As we get older, our priorities often change.
Many of my clients aren't interested in running marathons or lifting huge weights.
They simply want to:
-
Feel stronger in everyday life
-
Improve their mobility
-
Increase their energy
-
Reduce stiffness
-
Improve balance and stability
-
Stay independent for longer
-
Keep doing the activities they love
-
Feel healthier and more confident
That's exactly what our sessions are designed to achieve.
Why Strength Training Matters After 50
From around our 30s onwards, we naturally begin to lose muscle mass if we don't actively challenge our bodies.
This can lead to:
-
Reduced strength
-
Poor balance
-
Slower movement
-
Increased risk of falls
-
Lower confidence
-
Reduced bone strength
-
Difficulty with everyday tasks
The good news is that strength can be improved at any age.
Regular resistance training can help you maintain muscle, improve bone health, increase balance and make everyday activities feel easier.
The Benefits of Personal Training After 50

Frequently Asked Questions
I'm worried I'll be the oldest person you train.
Not at all. I regularly work with clients in their 50s, 60s, 70s and even 80s. Every session is tailored to your individual ability and goals.
Will exercise make my joints worse?
Not necessarily. The right type of exercise can often improve joint mobility, build strength around the joints and reduce everyday aches and stiffness. Every programme is adapted to suit your body.
Can strength training help prevent falls?
Yes. Improving strength, balance, coordination and reaction time can reduce your risk of falls and help you stay confident and independent for longer.
What if I've never lifted weights before?
That's absolutely fine. You'll learn everything at a comfortable pace using exercises and equipment appropriate for your ability.
Can exercise help me stay independent as I get older?
Absolutely. Building strength and mobility can make everyday activities like climbing stairs, carrying shopping, getting out of chairs and playing with grandchildren much easier.
I haven't exercised in decades. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many of my clients are returning to exercise after many years away. We start where you are and build your confidence step by step.
I'm worried about getting injured.
Your safety always comes first. Every exercise is chosen to suit your ability, with a focus on good technique, gradual progression and building confidence.
Can personal training help with my balance?
Yes. Balance naturally declines as we age, but it can be improved with the right exercises. Better balance can make everyday movement feel safer and more confident.
Do I need to get down on the floor?
Not unless it's appropriate for you. Sessions are adapted around your mobility, and many effective exercises can be done standing or using a chair for support.
What if I just want to stay healthy rather than lose weight?
That's a great goal. Many clients train to maintain their strength, improve mobility, increase energy, protect their long-term health and continue doing the things they enjoy for years to come.
