Disability-Friendly Personal Training
Personal training adapted to you, your goals and your abilities.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of exercise.

At TailoredFit, I believe fitness should be accessible, welcoming and built around the individual—not the other way around.

Whether you have a physical disability, neurological condition, long-term health condition or reduced mobility, I provide one-to-one home personal training that is tailored to your needs, your goals and your everyday life.

There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach.

Every session is adapted so you can exercise safely, confidently and in a way that works for you.

I provide personalised at-home personal training and fitness coaching across Telford and surrounding areas of Shropshire, helping people improve their fitness, build strength, increase mobility, lose weight, and feel more confident in themselves.

Whether you're taking your first steps into exercise, returning after a long break, or looking to take your health and fitness to the next level, my goal is simple: to help you achieve results that last.

Exercise Should Be Inclusive

Many people with disabilities face barriers to exercise.

Busy gyms, inaccessible equipment, lack of confidence or simply not knowing where to begin can all make getting active feel difficult.

By bringing personal training directly to your home, we remove many of those barriers.

You can exercise in a familiar, comfortable environment with a programme designed entirely around you.

Who I Work With

I work with adults living with a wide range of disabilities and conditions, including people with:

  • Physical disabilities

  • Wheelchair users

  • Neurological conditions

  • Reduced mobility

  • Balance difficulties

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Stroke recovery

  • Limb differences

  • Long-term health conditions

If your condition isn't listed, please get in touch. Every person is different, and we'll discuss whether home personal training is suitable for your individual circumstances.

Personal Training That Starts With Your Goals

Your goals might include:

  • Becoming stronger

  • Improving balance

  • Increasing mobility

  • Improving coordination

  • Transferring more confidently

  • Walking further

  • Becoming more independent

  • Reducing fatigue

  • Improving confidence

  • Staying active

  • Improving quality of life

Whatever success looks like for you, we'll build a programme together to help you work towards it.

What Sessions Might Include

Every programme is personalised, but sessions may focus on:

  • Functional strength

  • Balance training

  • Coordination exercises

  • Mobility work

  • Cardiovascular fitness

  • Core stability

  • Flexibility

  • Everyday movement patterns

  • Confidence-building activities

Exercises can be adapted for seated, standing or supported positions depending on your needs.

Why Train at Home?

Home provides a comfortable and familiar environment where many people feel more relaxed and confident.

Benefits include:

  • No travelling

  • No inaccessible gym equipment

  • No crowded environments

  • Equipment provided

  • Sessions adapted to your home environment

  • One-to-one support throughout

Training where you live also allows us to practise movements that genuinely matter in everyday life.

A Personal Approach

No diagnosis tells the whole story.

Two people with the same condition can have completely different abilities, goals and challenges.

That's why I don't train conditions.

I train people.

Your programme is designed around:

  • Your current ability

  • Your confidence

  • Your mobility

  • Your lifestyle

  • Your goals

  • Your progress

Every session evolves as you do.

Real Progress Is Personal

One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been supporting a client with cerebral palsy who had used a wheelchair for many years.

By focusing on consistent, personalised training, improving strength, balance and confidence over time, they progressed to walking with a frame—something that once felt out of reach.

Every journey is unique, and no outcome can ever be guaranteed. But moments like these show what's possible when exercise is adapted to the individual and progress is built patiently over time.

Whether your goal is standing more confidently, transferring more easily or simply feeling stronger during everyday activities, every improvement matters.

Working Together Safely

Your safety always comes first.

Before we begin, we'll discuss:

  • Your medical history

  • Current mobility

  • Equipment you use

  • Support needs

  • Advice from healthcare professionals where appropriate

  • Your personal goals

Sessions are adapted as needed, including on days when your symptoms or energy levels change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is personal training suitable for my disability?

Every person is different. Sessions are tailored to your individual abilities, goals and any advice from your healthcare team, rather than your diagnosis alone.

What if I use a wheelchair?

That's absolutely fine. I work with wheelchair users and adapt every exercise to suit your mobility, helping you improve strength, fitness and confidence safely.

Will sessions be too difficult?

No. We start where you are today and progress at a pace that feels comfortable, achievable and appropriate for you.

Can we train in my own home?

Yes. Sessions take place in your home, where you're most comfortable. I'll adapt the exercises to the space available and bring all the equipment we need.

What if my condition changes from day to day?

That's completely normal. Every session can be adjusted to suit how you're feeling, ensuring you can continue making progress without unnecessary pressure.

Can exercise help me become more independent?

For many people, improving strength, balance, coordination and mobility can make everyday activities feel easier and help increase confidence and independence.

Will I be pushed beyond my limits?

No. Sessions are supportive, not intimidating. I'll encourage you to challenge yourself safely while always respecting your comfort, abilities and goals.

Can I improve even if my condition is permanent?

Yes. Even when a condition can't be cured, many people can still improve their strength, fitness, mobility, confidence or ability to carry out everyday tasks through appropriate exercise.

What if I need extra time to learn exercises?

That's never a problem. Everyone learns at their own pace, and I'll take the time needed to explain, demonstrate and adapt each exercise.

What are your goals for disability-friendly personal training?

My aim is to help you become stronger, more confident and as capable as possible, so you can enjoy greater independence and continue doing the things that matter most to you.
